Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or date of birth typed into one of the search boxes goes directly to the outside provider that runs that tool. The provider processes the request and returns results under its own policy. We do not keep or log what you type into those boxes.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep the message in order to reply to it, and it stays with our team. We do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each page load generates a small amount of technical information that our servers see:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser type and version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long you stayed
- The referring site, when there is one
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device, and this site uses them to understand how visitors move through the pages. Analytics services turn that information into aggregate traffic figures. You can block cookies in your browser at any time, though some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the partner service that handles it
- Learning which pages readers find useful and which need work
- Diagnosing and fixing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. It publishes general guidance about where Chippewa County warrant records are held and how to check them through the Sheriff's Office, Minnesota District Court, Chippewa County, and the county's data practices process. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected from visitors is assembled into consumer reports about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Anything entered into one is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one, and the company decides how long it keeps data and whom it shares with. We have no control over those choices, so read the partner's policy before you submit a query.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link to court pages, sheriff's office pages, Minnesota statutes, and other resources. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's own privacy policy then applies. Read that policy before sharing personal details there.
Some advertising partners may track activity across sites in order to target ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not on this one. Records held by a government office are governed separately by the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, not by this policy.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may reach:
- Search partners that process a query you submit
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- Law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security practices to protect what is collected. No internet service can promise perfect safety, so we work to reduce risk without claiming that a breach could never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, state law may give you rights over personal data a business holds about you. Whatever your state provides, you can ask us to do the following, and we will explain what we can and cannot do in response:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete data you have asked us to remove
- Stop certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Review it periodically if you want to track how visitor information is handled.
Effective date: September 15, 2026
